About Us

 

Computer Education and Instructional Technology Department (CEIT) is located at Davutpaşa Campus. Courses are held in the classrooms and laboratories with access to computers, internet and media technologies at Davutpaşa Campus. CEIT includes 483 undergraduate students are offered the degrees of Bachelor's of Science (BS) and 8 graduate students. We have our first BS graduates in 2001- 2002 semester.

 

CEIT has 16 faculty members consisted of 6 instructors and 11 research assistants at present. 

 

Within the scope of E- learning project, “Instructional Technology and Material Development” course have been conducted in a blended learning environment (%50 on internet) since 2003- 2004 semester.

 

Junior students annually organize the spring festival at the last Saturday of the May. Various activities, amusing tournaments, music, free special foods and drinks are included in the festival.

 

Moreover, in May of each year, spring festival takes place for all students of the university. It includes many concerts, conferences, exhibitions, scientific meetings and sports tournaments. Furthermore students can participate in the activities like painting, photography, drama, cinema, classical Turkish music, modern and folk dances. They can also benefit from the courses on playing classical Turkish musical instruments and guitar.

 

There are three campuses of Yıldız Technical University which are located in Beşiktaş, Davutpaşa and Ayazağa. A dormitory has 674 people capacity, seven dining halls, cafe and cafeterias, a health centre with an ambulance is available for 24 hours, two sports complexes, a sports centre with a fitness and aerobic room are available on various campuses.

 

Students can commute between campuses either by round-trip shuttle services or public and private transportations. In every year Yıldız Technical University awards scholarships to starting freshman students having the first ten highest entry ranks in the university exams and having the first highest entry rank to every department.

 

Students can also step into scientific and academic world by working as part-time assistants in various projects and assignments. Counseling service is provided for students about academic, social and psychological issues.
